Terms & conditions.

Last updated: January 2026. These terms apply to all services provided by Beyond the Leash Animal Care.

1. Agreement

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between Beyond the Leash Animal Care ("BTL", "we", "us") and the client ("Client", "you") who books services with us. By submitting our intake form, requesting services, or paying an invoice, you agree to these Terms.

2. Services

BTL provides pet care, small-animal care, hobby farm care, and yard cleanup ("Poop Patrol™") services in Buffalo and Western New York. The exact scope, schedule, and price of your services will be agreed upon in writing (email or text) or through your intake and confirmation.

3. Meet & Greet

A complimentary Meet & Greet is required before new pet care services begin, so we can meet your animals, review routines, and confirm access details.

4. Client representations

  • You are the legal owner of the animals or authorized to arrange their care.
  • Your animals are current on vaccinations required by law (including rabies where applicable) and free from communicable disease, or you have disclosed known conditions in writing.
  • You have disclosed any history of aggression, bites, or fear-based reactivity.
  • You have disclosed any hazards in the home or property, secured firearms, disabled traps in service areas, and provided accurate access instructions.

5. Veterinary & emergency care

You authorize BTL to transport your animal(s) to your listed veterinarian or the nearest available emergency clinic if we reasonably believe emergency care is needed and we cannot reach you or your emergency contact. You agree to reimburse all veterinary, transportation, and related costs incurred on your animal's behalf.

6. Payment

  • Accepted payment methods: cash, Venmo, Cash App, and Square (credit card).
  • Payment is due at time of service unless otherwise agreed.
  • Recurring services (e.g., weekly Poop Patrol™) are billed on the schedule agreed to at signup.
  • Returned payments and past-due balances may incur reasonable fees; unpaid balances may be sent to collections.
  • Rates are subject to change with 30 days' notice to active clients.

7. Cancellations & rescheduling

  • Cancellations with at least 24 hours' notice: no charge.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice: may be charged in full.
  • Vacation and overnight cancellations within 7 days of service start: 50% of the booked amount may be charged.
  • Holiday bookings may require a non-refundable deposit and are subject to holiday surcharges.

8. Access to your home

You are responsible for providing safe, reliable entry (lockbox, keypad code, or key) and for informing BTL of any changes. If we cannot access your home at the scheduled visit, we will attempt to reach you; a lockout fee may apply and missed visits are not refundable if caused by inaccurate access information.

9. Weather & safety

BTL may shorten, reschedule, or adjust visits during severe weather (extreme heat/cold, ice storms, high winds, floods) or other unsafe conditions. Our first priority is the safety of your animals and our team. Poop Patrol™ visits may be paused during heavy snow cover and resumed as conditions allow.

10. Liability

BTL performs services in good faith and with reasonable care. Except in cases of BTL's gross negligence or willful misconduct, BTL is not liable for:

  • Injury, escape, illness, or death of any animal.
  • Property damage caused by animals in our care.
  • Actions of other people with access to your home during our service window.
  • Losses arising from inaccurate or incomplete information you provided.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BTL's total liability is limited to the amount paid by Client for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

11. Photos & marketing

With your consent (indicated on your intake form), we may photograph your animals during visits and share images on our social media and marketing materials. You can withdraw consent at any time — future posts will exclude your animals; already-published posts may be removed on request.

12. Termination

Either party may end services at any time by written notice. BTL may terminate services immediately if animal, handler, or home safety is compromised, or if payment terms are not met.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Erie County, New York.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be shared with active clients. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
